Our Story

The story of Revive Our Hearts South Africa is part of a larger story that began in 2001 when Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth founded Revive Our Hearts in the United States. Through biblical teaching, discipleship, and a call to personal revival, the ministry has encouraged women across the globe to experience freedom, fullness, and fruitfulness in Christ.

The story of Revive Our Hearts South Africa began in 2014 when Retha de Villiers attended the True Woman Conference in the United States. There, God placed a clear calling on her heart to bring the message of revival and biblical womanhood to South Africa.

Returning home, Retha began sharing the vision with others. As volunteers gathered around this shared calling, the ministry's groundwork was laid through prayer, relationship-building, and a desire to see women rooted in God's Word.

In 2016, Revive Our Hearts South Africa was officially launched in Pretoria, making South Africa one of the first countries outside the United States to establish the ministry. What began with a small team soon grew into a ministry reaching women across provinces, languages, and generations.

Over the next decade, God opened doors far beyond what those early volunteers could have imagined. New leaders emerged, resources were translated into multiple South African languages, and women from diverse communities were encouraged and equipped through Scripture-centered teaching.

As Revive Our Hearts South Africa celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2026, another important chapter begins. On 1 July 2026, Founder Director Retha de Villiers handed leadership of the ministry to Theresa Rabie.

With gratitude for God's faithfulness through the past ten years and quiet confidence in His leading for the years ahead, the story of Revive Our Hearts South Africa continues to unfold—written by the One who called it into being.
