Sin promises freedom but eventually brings slavery. The pleasures that appear to liberate us can begin to control our desires, thoughts, and choices. According to 2 Peter 2:19, “whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.” True freedom is not found in satisfying sinful cravings but in refusing to be controlled by them.
