Listening to lies about God can lead us to dwell on them, believe them, and eventually live according to them. Sandra believed she had to earn God’s acceptance through perfect performance, which left her overwhelmed and depressed. Freedom came when she began filling her mind with the truth of God’s Word. We overcome lies by hearing, dwelling on, believing, and acting on truth.
